Soon or later every person faces the problem concerning the choice of dining table. And since this is a purchase that is expected to serve for years everything has to be done right. Thus you have to know the selection criterions and operational characteristics that every piece of furniture has to buy something that will meet all your requirements.

First of all before looking for an appropriate dining table try to imagine what kind of a table you want in your kitchen or dining room, then find a place for it and think of the size that'll fit in your room (remember that the space between the table and the walls must be no less than 24-30 inches) and the number of people you would like to seat.

Don't forget to count those people that may visit you on holidays or those that may become the members of your family in the near future. Will you be able to seat them all around the table? And off course it would be great to have an additional space in case of some unexpected guests coming to you place. As a hospitable person you'll have to invite them to your table.

Well, before buying a dining table you have to check its durability. Your table has to be able to withstand the children's playing, constant moving if you want to start house repairing or kitchen rearrangement or even decide to move out.

Keep in mind that the tables made of soft wood like rubberwood or pine can be easily damaged, broken, scratched since they aren't very durable. Buying a table made of particle board is not a good option too, because the laminate layer that covers its surface is usually rubbed off.

That's why it's better to opt for the hard types of wood like cherry (that is considered to be a little bit harder than the pine though more expensive), oak (red and white oak , however the price of white oak is about 25 per cent higher than the red one) and the maple ( the most durable kind of wood). The price of maple is higher than the price of cherry but lower than the white oak. Still many people prefer red oak as the most affordable and quite durable. Good luck on buying dining table you’re dreaming about!
