Patio Furniture Cleaning

Everyone likes to spend time outdoors in the summer. Families often have lunch on the patio or enjoy warm sunny days. If you have a look at the patios of neighboring houses, you may see most of them have patio furniture. It may be furniture made of cheap plastic or expensive wood. Patio furniture can be seen there all year round. Not everyone keeps it inside in cold months. It influences its useful life, especially if it is made of wood. This way or another, when spring comes both furniture left outside and that one kept in the garage or somewhere else is cleaned before its use. In fact, cleaning plastic and aluminum furniture is easy.

It is enough to use a usual dishwashing liquid and a sponge. Then water is rinsed and furniture is wiped with dry cloth. Another pair of shoes is wood furniture. Some experts recommend to use special cleaners, but here you will find a simple and effective way of cleaning.

• take a dry brush and remove debris and dust. Wood patio furniture can also be cleaned with mixture of mild soap and lukewarm water. As for teak furniture, take one part of water and two parts of the detergent containing bleach. Soak a bristle brush in this mixture and remove dirt from the furniture using it. Then rinse it and let your teak furniture dry.
• if there is patina on the teak pieces of patio furniture, remove it using acid and a caustic cleaner. But, of course, the best way is to use wood wash made especially for this purpose.
• if you want your furniture not to fade and to be of natural color, it should be sealed with a special sealer. Growth of mildew and mold are also prevented using it.
• as for wrought patio furniture, it needs sanding to avoid appearance of rust. Then it is wiped carefully and coated with a primer. If there are no signs of corrosion, usual cleaning with soapy water will be enough.
