Decorating your bedroom for St. Valentine’s Day may bring a lot of fun and pleasure, especially if you’re doing it for the first time. If you want to surprise your boyfriend or husband create romantic atmosphere in your bedroom, using different tricks and a bit of imagination. So start with lighting. Lighting is the first thing that must be considered while preparing your room for the St. Valentine’s Day.

Light up the candles in the shape of the hearts or flowers and put them all over the room. Select the right color, they must not be of different vivid colors, let them be white and rosy. Find or buy as more candlesticks as possible and fill them with other candles. But be careful with the fire; watch that the candles are put far from different fabrics.

Create a valance above your bed, using light soft sheer fabric and silk red or rosy ribbons to tie it to the corners of the bed. Cover your bedroom with silk linen; perfume your pillows with light aroma of flowers. The next step is decoration of your bedroom with flowers. Buy a lot of fresh flowers, put them into the vases, and spread all over the room. You can create nice bouquets of small field flowers, violets, chamomiles and tulips by yourself. Their presence in the room will remind you about soon spring‘s coming. You can also buy a lot rose leaves and notch out small hearts of them. It will take you the whole day to do this but the way from the door to the bed covered with huge amount of rose hearts will look very impressive.

In order to fill the room with pleasant scents you can use aroma lamps and different aroma oils, for example vanilla, jasmine or rose. But don’t mix these smells - use only one essential oil so as not to make your date feel sick. You can also place pictures of you and your boyfriend together on any surface in your bedroom and attach a poster devoted to St. Valentine’s Day to the door. Place a small table next to the bed with a bottle of wine or champagne and some deserts, ice cream, fruits and canapés.
